Homeschool Connections is seeking a one-day-per-week K-12 P.E. teacher for our Brighton Campus which meets on Fridays. The class overview and plan will be provided if desired as well as any help you need to get acclimated to our program. If you have a passion for passing on your love of Physical Fitness to the next generation then this may be the job for you!
Homeschool Connections is an educational company that provides classes to homeschooling students grades K-12 once a week at five locations in the Metro Detroit area with six 55-minute classes per location. Classes range from Art to Physics and everything in between. We pride ourselves on having faculty who love to pass on their knowledge and expertise to our students in hands-on, engaging classes. Teachers are expected to have a passion for passing on their area(s) of expertise to our students and have experience teaching children in a classroom or other settings. They are required to provide engaging, hands-on lessons for students, a syllabus before class begins, weekly lesson updates to parents via our School Information System, and weekly review questions for students to complete outside of class. For our core and other regularly graded classes such as foreign language, teachers must provide weekly grades. Teachers are required and paid to attend Meet the Teacher, Student Showcase, and Training (generally once per year each). Teachers must be willing to be flexible when students need it and to work with parents to further their child’s education. We expect teachers to be on time, focused on their students, and uphold our vision and values. They must understand that classes with less than 5 students can be canceled before classes begin and that we do not run classes in the summer. Last, but certainly not least, we expect teachers to have fun and enjoy their time with their students! Teachers are not expected to have a teaching degree or certification.
