Patient Access Representative- Days Rotate
M-F 10:00am – 6:30pm, occasional weekend 7:30am -4:00pm***Qualifies for shift premium pay***
Front line representative with skills in multiple areas such as computer use, multi-line phone use and knowledge of the insurance and billing process. Greets, instructs, and schedules patients and visitors. Provides administrative support to physician practice.
Minimum Requirements
Associates Degree or 2 years of formal education or equivalent experience
Medical Terminology required or successful completion of medical terminology course in the probationary period. Failure to complete medical terminology will result in termination of employment.
Two (2) years of work experience in customer service, healthcare, or business related field.
Must be proficient in MS Word with knowledge of Windows-based applications and possess a proven ability to effectively use multiple computer systems.
Must possess the ability to communicate effectively with both public and coworkers orally and in writing, and the ability to work positively with all levels of clinical staff.
Familiarity with coding and billing systems desired. Assertiveness, organizational skills, effective time management, flexibility, and self-motivation are essential.
Must be able to pass a typing test of at least 40 words per minute with under 6 errors
Knowledge of ICD coding preferred.
Proven ability to communicate effectively with both public and co-workers orally and in writing, and the ability to work positively with all levels of staff in the completion of job responsibilities.
The person must be highly mobile to assist patients, family, and visitors when needed.
