Job Description :
Executes global materials sourcing strategies for Kohl’s Private & Exclusive brand to deliver optimal supply chain value – quality, cost, speed and on-time delivery with technical proficiency.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
MATERIALS SOURCING STRATEGY EXECUTION
Executes the continuous improvement of long term materials sourcing strategies aligned with Kohl’s apparel sourcing strategies, leveraging new opportunities while reducing risks
Executes Kohl’s strategic materials direction consistent with global markets and maximizes business strategy for optimal product value equation
Works closely aligned with cross functional partners in design, product development, and Materials R&D in core commodity product to deliver product value aligned with materials sourcing strategies and merchant financial goals
Executes strategic materials plans and decisions at a global level working closely with internal and external partners while achieving seasonal cost guidance – in the interest of Kohl’s
Leverages knowledge of material manufacturing & sourcing and global macroeconomics to optimize quality, cost and speed
Manages and optimizes Service Level Terms (SLT) consumption chart to reduce inventory risk. Elevates inventory risk on a timely basis.
Supports and executes to a 3 year mill strategy while containing costs, elevating quality, reducing lead times to meet merchant financial goals
Delivers negotiated cost containment to seasonal cost guidance by driving mill matrix strategic intent, counter development with multiple mill options, price benchmarking, and placement of Service Level Terms (SLT) for yarn and greige pre-positioning
Maintains a deep understanding of strategic mill matrix capability, capacity to optimize COP strategy, quality, costing, lead time, and on time delivery
Embeds key company goals in sustainability and Diversity & Inclusion while executing team management plans and strategies
Assures materials development on core, basic counter sourced product meets Kohl’s testing and compliance requirements
Leverages PLM data systems and processes to deliver materials strategy results and optimal decision making
Shares and coaches technical knowledge across Kohl’s cross functional teams
Special projects, as needed
MATERIALS SOURCING ENGAGEMENT WITH AGENTS AND SUPPLIERS
Monitor and identify global supply chain risk
Possess a global perspective – be acutely informed of global economic, political and cultural nuances to understand risk, opportunity and competitive strengths
Collaborate closely with mill suppliers (direct & domestic), External Materials Team and Kohl’s Materials R&D team for execution of Kohl’s materials strategies
Establish and own key relationships within external agent/s
Grow direct relationships with Kohl’s strategic mill matrix counterparts
QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED
5+ years of textile, retail, production, sourcing, supply chain management or related experience
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google
Expert in manufacturing and supply chain
Technically proficient in textile manufacturing with a global perspective
Global Business Knowledge/Cross Cultural Agility
PREFERRED
Bachelor’s Degree in Textile Engineering or related field
Previous experience in textile manufacturing
Ability to successfully operate in an international environment
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to travel domestically and internationally
