Come join a small, privately-owned child care and preschool in Longview, WA! Discovery Learning Schools LLC (Polly’s) is looking for positive and dedicated individuals to bring high-quality & supportive childcare to children in the area.
Now hiring for:
Child Care Aide – Closer Monday – Friday 3:00-5:30/6:00pm
Opportunity for 20+ hours/week starting October
Rate Dependent on Experience, starting at $15.00+/ hour, depending on experience
Age: Minimum 16+, 18+ preferred

The Preschool Aide will:
Support and work with Lead and Assistant Teachers to provide instructional support to children and implement developmentally appropriate programs in the center
Participate in daily activities, including toileting/diapering, mealtimes, circle and center times, outdoor play, as well as communicating with parents
Help to promote the development of self-help, communication, social, and play skills of the children
Maintain cleanliness of classroom and building with proper daily sanitization procedures
Follow company & licensing policies
Complete all professional development and trainings, as required
Hours & Schedule:
Monday – Friday, 3:00-5:30
Required Education and Qualifications:
Be at least 16 years of age; 18 years preferred
Must meet pre-service hiring requirements, as required by DCYF Licensing (see below)
Experience working with children, preferred
Pre-Employment Requirements:
Full COVID Vaccine or exemption approval (documentation required)
Produce verification of vaccination record
Clear TB Test
Passed MERIT portable background check
Valid Food Handlers’ card
Additional Paid Training Requirements after Hire (within first 90 days):
DCYF Classes – typically 7 to complete online
Adult & child first aid and CPR – to be scheduled by day care center
Valid/current Safe Sleep training – to complete online
Bloodborne Pathogens and HIV training – to complete online
30 hour basics of childcare training (completed within 60 days of hire) – to complete online
10-hour continuing education, per year
Typical Physical Requirements for Working with Young Children:
Must be able to stand, walk, stoop, bend, lift 25+ pounds, throughout the day
Sit for prolonged periods of time (up to 8 hours)
Sit and stand from floor-seated position
Work with cleaning and sanitizing products
Work inside, outside (for weather-permitting daily play)
