Job Description :
The Account Manager (Automotive) is responsible for managing current business from a sales perspective as well as developing new business opportunities. Disciplinary reporting to the Director of Sales, however, the account manager will work under the functional discretion of the Key Account Manager. The Account Manager will work across customers with defined product lines.
Responsibilities:
Manage existing business for assigned customers
Identify new opportunities to provide products and services to existing customers.
Identify and communicate customer product and technology requirements to appropriate Marquardt personnel. Voice of Customer.
Respond to requests for quotes, providing detailed price quotes on prospective business opportunities
Execute strategic plans to ensure long-term growth in both existing and potential new markets
Negotiate and track pricing changes
Build long-term relationships with existing and prospective customers, including key personnel in engineering, R&D, manufacturing, and purchasing
Achieve assigned sales, account development, and other targets
Develop and maintain various strategic growth metrics
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration or engineering
3+ years experience in components/systems sales for OEM’s
Computer skills, including the use of Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, SAP and customer sales portals
Thorough understanding of Human-Machine Interface automotive products
Advanced verbal communication skills, including group presentation, negotiation, and influencing.
Advanced management skills, including planning and organization, decision making, problem solving, and project management
Advanced knowledge of sales and closing techniques
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers, distributors, sales representatives, managers, and the general public
Ability to prepare complex written reports and other document
