JOB SUMMARY
Do you have experience working with individuals with physical and/or intellectual disabilities and the elderly? Are you caring and outgoing? Then we need you in our medical model adult day care! Assist with activities of daily living, personal care, community outings, daily exercise and scheduled activities throughout the day. Hours are Monday – Friday with some Saturday rotation. No holidays. Full-time immediate openings. Completion of SCL Phase I & II a plus. Ability to drive a handicap accessible van a plus. Must have CPR & First Aid. Benefits available after 30 days – medical, dental, vision. Monthly attendance bonus. Rate increase after 90 days and annually.
PRIMARY DUTIESProvides care for clients according to their plan of care.
Promotes the maximum level of functioning for clients.
Reports unusual client behaviors or actions to nursing staff
Identifies specific client needs and asks for direction to meet these needs.
Works closely with other program aides and nursing
Accepts assignments as directed by the nurse in a positive manner.
Provides all duties as deemed necessary by the nursing staff.
Promotes client participation in activities, and evaluates their interests in the program activities.
Demonstrates a positive role model for all clients.
Monitors client hydration and food intake.
Assists with preparing lunch and snack as required.
Monitors toileting, assists with personal care and if necessary places client on a toileting regime
Completes daily logs regarding participation in activities.
Promotes safety and security at all times.
Reports falls and injuries immediately to the nurse.
Complies with the current manner of occurrence reporting.
Knowledgeable of all safety requirements of fire, tornado, earthquake, and medical emergency policies.
OTHER ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Reports all physical and mental changes to the nurse, in a prompt manner.
Monitors for signs and symptoms of infection, fever, malaise, poor intake; dysuria, cough, or cold symptoms.
Continues professional development by attending in-service, seminars, or other means of formal and informal education
An active team member of the program with ongoing input regarding staff issues, client issues, and furthers development of the adult day health program.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.50 – $16.00 per hour
