MPS Group, Inc. currently has a full-time open position for a Jr. Accountant at the Farmington Hills, MI, headquarters.
SUMMARY
Support the organization s accounting practices and financial reporting by performing the following duties personally or with others.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain account reconciliations monthly
Perform basic troubleshooting to reconcile account balances and inquire to obtain missing information or verify unusual data.
Posting Journal Entries as needed
Assist with various audits throughout the year
Assist with Fixed Asset Maintenance including but not limited to adding assets, maintaining correct back up, Sub Ledger to General Ledger reconciliations
Assist with preparing the monthly Sales and Use Tax returns
Assist with preparing Annual Property Tax Returns
Perform duties, which may be assigned by the leadership team and/or general management.
Adhere to the Quality Systems and participate in continuous improvement.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelors Degree, or one to three years of related experience and/or training; or combination of education and experience. Experience in accounting principles is essential. Advanced (of strong) Excel skills desired.
