Division Description:
The Folding Carton Division is an industry leading manufacturer of folding cartons for food, paper, hardware, confectionary, cosmetic, and many other industries. Employing over 200 people, this facility designs, prints, and manufactures folding cartons, trays, and counter displays for a broad range of products and customers.
Position Overview:
The Operations Management Trainee will be heavily engaged in day-to-day production activities, working through a rotation of all areas of our business to gain the essential knowledge to become future leaders in our organization. This position will work closely with the Production Manager and Supervisors to assist with personnel in the areas of safety, quality, training, development, and productivity.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Leading the day-to-day operations of assigned department
Effectively managing the department for safe and efficient operation
Assessing the performance and training of operating personnel and determine areas for improvement
Providing training, development, and feedback for personnel
Analyzing department performance data to identify ongoing improvement opportunities
Enforcing safe work practices and leading daily safety discussions
Providing quality direction to personnel
Leading monthly department meetings, to include quality, productivity, process improvements, and safety
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or Associate’s degree (Operations Management or Business Management preferred)
Strong technical skills
Ability to develop and influence personnel
Strong leadership skills
Ability to solve process and production issues independently
Excellent written and oral communication skills and computer knowledge
Must be able to work various shifts
No supervisor experience required, prior manufacturing experience is a plus
