Overview:
The Richardson School is now accepting applications for an Admissions Coordinator! This position is responsible for guiding the processes for students, families, and districts seeking admissions into and transition out of The Richardson School (TRS). Critical to the success of this highly visible position is the ability to establish and maintain strong, effective relationships with school districts, counties, referral sources, parents, students, and others within the community integral and impacted by the student’s admission at TRS.
Responsibilities:
Is positioned as first point of contact for individuals seeking admission in TRS. Gathers critical information regarding prospective admission and completes pre-admission assessment.
Assesses ability to pay as part of the pre-admission process working with placing agent to secure funding prior to placement.
Submits completed funding and billing information to the Billing Office, including payment sources for all aspects of admission. Gathers, completes, and submits all county funding information for respite and camp programs.
Provides Administration with written pre-authorization and intake forms and coordinates admission date.
Plans, coordinates, and supervises activities needed to occur on day of admission.
Collaborates with all TRS staff involved in transitional planning for student, facilitating ongoing contacts with student’s District/County regarding student progress, recommendations for subsequent placement where of benefit to the student, and the coordination of services and transitional support between TRS and the student’s district as requested or contracted by the District.
Represents TRS at conferences and other community events effectively and professionally presenting TRS, its services and opportunities to customers. May prepare and deliver formal presentations and address questions promoting TRS.
Develops and maintains collaborative relationships within and between all departments, school districts and other referral sources and individuals within the community. Acts as ambassador for TRS in public settings.

Qualifications:
Requires a bachelor’s degree, preferably in education, human services, marketing, communications, or related field.
A minimum of 2 years’ work experience in an education or human services field is preferred, preferably at the direct support or supervisory level.
Demonstrated knowledge of educational systems and admission procedures highly desired.
Demonstrates a high degree of professionalism and respect through appearance, interactions with others and engagement; excellent written and verbal communication skills; and maintains self-composure and self-control under stressful conditions.
Previous experience or comfort with public speaking.
