Job Description :
The Associate Director of Connections helps lead the mission of Sojourn Church J-Town by leading our hospitality ministry and helping people find their next step in the life of our church. The role is responsible for helping explore what it would like to be a part of our church and find belonging here through membership, community, and service.
Character & Competencies
Fulfills the character qualifications of a Deacon and Sojourn Employee Handbook.
Strong relational skills and ability to be present with people
Strong skills and gifts in hospitality
Experience creating experiences and planning events
Ability to perform tactical execution of a strategy
Strong administrative and communication skills
Ability to talk in front of a group of people
Ability to recruit, manage, and develop volunteers
Experience with Google Workplace: Gmail, Drive, Sheets, Docs, etc.
Ability to collaborate with other ministry leaders
Responsibilities
Hospitality
Oversee and manage the Connect Team volunteers as they seek to welcome others as Jesus has welcomed us.
This includes coffee, the Start Here area, parking, and the info desk.
Manage the overall aesthetic of common spaces.
Oversee Guest Experience.
Oversee and execute church-wide events.
Next Steps
Oversee our follow-up process for New Guests
Manage Text-In-Church, Connect Cards, and Digital Platforms
Walk alongside people as they find connections to the life of our church through membership, serving, or discipleship.
Connections Events
Lead our Welcome Lunch event to introduce newcomers to our church.
Initiate and lead a strategy to connect people to our membership process.
Lead our Membership Class
Expectations
Adhere to the Sojourn Staff Handbook.
Support, champion, and fulfill the mission, goals, and ministry philosophy of Sojourn J-Town.
Participate in all staff meetings and regular functions.
Support, partner, and align with other ministry areas to further our mission.
25 hours per week
