Job Description :
Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, Finance, or related field
5+ years leading and delivering data analytics and statistical solutions with experience in creating metrics and reporting, exploratory data analysis and time series analysis
3+ years of relevant experience in building and leading teams of Data and Business Intelligence Engineers
Strong understanding of BI technologies and their application including databases, big data technologies, data warehousing and dashboarding
Experience in SQL and manipulating large data sets in a database
Experience with Business Intelligence tools like Tableau and/or QuickSight
Job summary
Amazon Web Services’ Data Center Systems team is seeking a Business Intelligence Manager to help build world-class products that enable highly secure industrial controls monitoring and alarming. The systems you will contribute to are critical to ensuring the health of AWS data center power and cooling infrastructure.
As a Business Intelligence Manager within Data Center Systems you will lead a team of Business Intelligence and Data Engineers to distill huge volumes of data collected from IoT enabled devices into meaningful insights and analytics for our customers. You will work directly with our Software and Technical Program Management teams to monitor Amazon Web Services infrastructure, creating your team’s roadmap while driving best practices such as data quality and scalability. Your team will be responsible for creating the back end data infrastructure and metrics that monitor the health of Amazon Web Services power and cooling infrastructure, creating visuals that highlight new insights about how our infrastructure performs under various conditions, and contributing to our operational planning and VP doc reviews.
In this role, you will have the ability to demonstrate not just excellent technical skills, but also expertise in people management and both verbal/written communication. Ideal candidates will be comfortable with ambiguity and enjoy a fast-paced and ever-changing environment. By building deep relationships with customers and stakeholders, your team will produce meaningful analytics that solve pressing questions with data driven answers. You will have the opportunity to role up your selves and get directly involved in technical details, demonstrating deep knowledge of data analysis tools and platforms (such as SQL, Tableau, and Redshift) for developing business intelligence solutions.

Key job responsibilities
Hire, manage, and coach a team of Business Intelligence and Data Engineers
Create a roadmap addressing the most challenging business questions from customers, stakeholders, and leadership
Raise the bar on metrics and data visualizations, making it easy for your customers to derive complex insights from huge data sets
Be a vocal advocate for data best practices across our entire organization, ensuring key programs and goals are supported by meaningful and actionable metrics
Implement ongoing planning and review mechanisms to ensure high productivity and quality from your team’s outputs
MS in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
Strong verbal/written communication and data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams
Experience working with AWS big data technologies (Redshift, S3, Glue, Athena)
Demonstrated proficiency in at least one programming language used for data science such as Python, R, etc.
Experience delivering and maintaining technical products and services in a high growth environment with shifting priorities
