Job Title
Computer Lab Aide
Job Function
Provide limited technical support in academic computer labs.
Job Responsibilities
Load/reload operating system images on routers/switches
Setup equipment in labs for hands-on exams and exercises
Monitor the classroom labs during open lab sessions and provide limited student assistance
Set-up/re-stock classroom equipment for class session demonstrations/activities
Receive/set-up new computer hardware and peripherals in classroom computer labs
Open and close the main classroom computer labs (configure equipment/power-up/power-down/tear-down/store)
Report lab equipment problems to professors.
Replace malfunctioning equipment from storage
Perform limited hardware diagnostic tests and troubleshoot equipment problems
Perform limited equipment repairs, such as installing cards, hard drives, CD-ROM Perform other duties as assigned

: Reports to Department Associate Dean – day-to-day direction from Information Technology professors.

Some IT coursework or degree.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Must have working knowledge of information technology courses at Macomb. Must be able to lift and carry computer equipment as required.

Must be able to lift and carry computer equipment as required.
Work Hours
To be scheduled by the department, but not to exceed 25 hours per week. Evenings primarily, some afternoons and Saturdays may be required.
Salary
$14.43 – $18.55 (2022-23 salary range) Maximum salary upon new hire $14.43
