Job Description :
Responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all cooking utensils, equipment, glassware, silverware, service ware, pots and pans. Also ensures the cleanliness of the kitchen, stores dishes and utensils, and removes trash from the kitchen. Maintains kitchen, dishwashing and back area in an inspection-ready condition in accordance with local authority and The Community House guidelines. Evening and weekend hours available.
Responsibilities:

Cleans and sanitizes dishes, glassware, utensils, cooking and preparation equipment.
Stores dishes, glassware and utensils in the appropriate storage area.
Removes breakages or chipped items from circulation and updates the breakage/inventory register.
Uses and maintains all equipment according to manufacturer and department guidelines.
Maintains equipment chemical levels and inventory of chemicals.
Ensures equipment in good working order.
Reports any maintenance or hazard issues immediately to Executive or Head Chef.
Sweeps main areas of the kitchen and under all equipment.
Ensures dishwashing area is kept clean and safe.
Ensures trash area is kept clean and safe.
Removes and disposes of waste following Community House standards and recycling guidelines.
Adheres to all sanitation guidelines.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

High school graduate preferred.
Dishwashing experience preferred.
Food preparation experience helpful.
Understands proper food storage.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Well-organized.
Demonstrated commitment to the principle of outstanding customer service.
Able to work under pressure at times.
Must be able to operate dishwashing equipment.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

Job requires walking, standing, stooping and occasionally lifting up to 30 pounds.
Stands for extended periods of time while washing dishes and preparing food.
Works a flexible work schedule which includes evenings and weekends in order to prepare food and wash dishes for scheduled events.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $17.00 per hour
