Peckham Inc. – Farm and Facilities Delivery Driver
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Farm and Facilities Delivery Driver is responsible for the daily transportation needs of the Apparel, General Manufacturing, Facilities, and Peckham Farms. In addition to driving the company vehicles this position will assist the Farm Team, The Grounds Team, and the Facilities Team as needed when not occupied with pick-up and delivery tasks.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Drive company vehicle in accordance with all company policies and in compliance with all transportation regulations and laws.
Safely make pick-ups and deliveries as scheduled or as requested.
Maintain drivers log and verify accuracy of shipping documentation.
Communicate all maintenance and repair issues and required Preventive Maintenance to the Horticulture and Facilities Specialist.
Assist with Farmstand tasks, assist customers and tend the counter and Point of Sale duties during the Farmstand season.
Assist with other Farm and Facilities tasks and projects as needed.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Drive forklift, load, and unload Peckham vehicles
Attend daily meetings.
Assist with inventory activities for Farm and Facilities.
Promote Peckham’s vision, values, and services to all customers and stakeholders
Assist in maintaining organization wide quality standards
Maintain a safe and clean work environment
Other related duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
None
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Maintain valid Michigan Chauffeurs License or obtain prior to start date.
Six months of professional experience making pickups and deliveries with vans or box trucks.
Within 90 days of hire obtain Peckham Forklift certification.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in an agriculture or food production setting
Experience operating a Square Point of Sale system
Experience with Continuous Improvement activities.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit or stand for long periods of time and reach with arms and grip and manipulate with hands. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee needs to have the ability to ask questions and voice concerns related to work and work environment. The employee needs to have the ability to work outdoors and be exposed to outdoor weather conditions and temperature extremes in all seasons.
