Human Resource Generalist

Flex-N-Gate is looking to recruit an experienced Human Resource Generalist with experience in the area of Training Development and Recruiting to Allen Park, MI. Flex-N-Gate is a leading manufacturer and supplier of components for the automotive industry, recently ranked 13th of the 150 Top North American Suppliers in “Automotive News.” A growing and vital company, Flex-N-Gate provides a great opportunity for hard-working and skilled individuals.

Scope of the Position: Recruiting and managing the delivery of training programming to support an automotive engineering exterior lighting function.

Conducts needs analysis studies and confers with managers and supervisors to determine training needs.

Compiles data and analyzes past and current year training requirements to prepare budgets and justify funds requested.

Formulate training, programs, and schedules, based on knowledge of identified training needs, business systems or change in products, procedures, or service.

Selects apropriate instructional procedures or methods such as individuals training, group instruction, self study, demonstrations, simulation exercises and computer based training.

Organizes and develops training materials, reference library, testing and evaluation procedures and other educational materials.

Educates assigned managers and supervisory personnel in effective techniques for training, such as new employee’s orientation, on the job training, management development, procedures and technologies.

Researches and selects outside consultants and trainers to conduct training in specific topics. Maintains records and prepares statistical reports to evaluate performance of instructors and monitor progress of trainees.

Coordinates established training courses with technical and professional courses offered by community colleges and universities.

Drafts applications and proposals to submit to fund granting authorities such as government and foundations.

Recruits, researches, interviews, screens, and refers candidates for open positions.

Coordinates recruitment programs to attract applicants to fill specific job openings.

Develops and maintains network of contacts to help identify and source qualified candidates.

Coordinates participates in, sets up display, and works at job fairs.



Bachelors Degree in Human Resource Management or a related field of study.

Five to seven years of Training Development experience in an engineering or professional setting.

Proven experience to advertise, recruit, screen, schedule interviews and on-board engineering or professional positions.

Proven ability developing, overseeing and implementing an internship program along with developing relationships with appropriate educational institutions. Ability to coordinate projects; communicates changes and progress; completes projects on time and manages project team activities.

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, schedule form. PHR/SPHR or other recognized Human Resource Certification preferred.
