The Department of Military Affairs (DMA) is looking to fill an Inventory / Supply Specialist position at Truax Field in Madison, Wisconsin.
This is a Wisconsin State civil service position.

Position Summary
Under the general supervision of the Buildings and Grounds Superintendent and in coordination with the Facility Manager, this position manages logistical (supply) assets of Civil Engineering (CE) to ensure the productive and effective utilization of material funding and requirements for all CE tasks and responsibilities.
Duties involve oversight/management of supply operations to include training of temporary supply personnel, implementation of supply procedures/operations providing supply guidance /assistance to other squadron personnel, and oversight/performance for establishing, maintaining, and disbursing bench stock for Facility Operations and Maintenance. This position is also the office support designee responsible for monitoring the maintenance of office equipment used in the daily operation of CE.
In addition, this position will perform filing, typing, record processing, requisition preparation, and other general office support functions, as well as producing data on the logistical requirements of CE to assist in the development of the CE budget.
Salary Information
The classification used to fill this position is Inventory Control Coordinator – Advanced (Pay Schedule and Range 03-11).
Starting wage will be $18.84 per hour, plus an excellent benefits package. For current permanent state employees, pay will be set in accordance with the State Compensation Plan.

Conditions of employment:
Must possess a valid driver’s license and remain qualified as a condition of continued employment.
Must pass a background check and obtain/maintain a satisfactory DOD security clearance as well as a federal Common Access Card for gaining access to this secure military installation, restricted areas therein, and federal computer systems.
All state employees are required to report their COVID vaccination status, whether vaccinated or not, and must provide supporting documentation if vaccinated. Newly hired employees will be required to submit this information within their first two weeks of employment.
Qualifications
Qualified applicants will have training, education and/or experience in the following:
Experience using Microsoft Excel or similar databases (may include creating/updating spreadsheets or entering data).
Experience with purchasing or other financial functions.
Experience with inventory and supply activities (such as conducting a physical inventory of equipment and supplies, requisitioning supplies, receiving and issues supplies, etc.)
In addition to meeting the qualifications above, well qualified applicants will have training, education, and/or experience in the following:
Experience interpreting a government agency’s policies and/or procedures.
Experience contacting vendors to obtain information regarding purchasing.
Experience reconciling billings statements
