The School of Nursing has an outstanding opportunity for a Part-Time (50% FTE) Program Operations Specialist for the Adult Gerontology Acute Care and Primary Care Nurse practitioner programs. This individual will manage the operations of the AGNP tracks within the DNP program for the School of Nursing. In addition, they will collaborate with other DNP support staff across the SON.

This position requires functioning at a high level in more than one area of expertise. Handling the day-to-day program operations of the AGNP programs requires ever-changing expertise, exceptional organizational skills, time management, technical skills, good public relations, and the ability to perform under pressure. In addition, this position will be representing the School of Nursing and the UW to a variety of external agencies and will be expected to influence agencies without having power over them.

Assist with orientation to CANVAS for new faculty. Budget, Purchasing, Reimbursement:
Support budget cycle work and program purchases
Support faculty in processing for travel and purchase reimbursement Lab Coordination:
Assist with delivery of supplies from outside vendors (e.g., IUD pelvic models and IUD supplies)
Assist with set-up of simulation activities
Provide outside vendors or speakers with directions to campus, parking directions and parking validation
Assist with standardized patients (e.g., OSCEs,) – copies of other forms, instructions for getting paid, etc.
Support faculty in the development and coordination of curriculum and special educational programing (e.g., Teletobacco, OSCE’s) Remote Meetings:
Set up for remote student/faculty participation when needed Course Support:
Support course faculty in course planning, programming, and coordination including guest speaker scheduling
Assist in the collecting course evaluations for curriculum review by track leads Faculty Orientation and Resource Support:
Support orientation of new and established faculty and serve as a point of contact and resource support for faculty
Support students and faculty with Typhon administration and collection of clinical rotation data DNP Final Poster Day:
Assist with poster printing as needed
Assist with set-up and/or take-down (sharing shifts with other program ops specs) Faculty Clinical Advisor Orientation Curriculum:
Maintain and update orientation materials in Canvas
Support FCAs in onboarding process Meeting Support: Organizing Meetings:
Schedule AGNP faculty meetings
Set up Zoom meetings
Create agenda with the assistance of the track leads
Print handouts when needed (e.g., orientation)
Assist in setting up meetings with multiple stakeholders Advising:
In coordination with leads assist with scheduling 2 advising meetings (1 hour) per quarter for 1st and 2nd year cohorts, schedule 1-1.5 hour advising meetings with year 3 students
Order food and plan for delivery when needed for special meetings
Arrange rooms, notify students and prep any handouts/slides Orientation:
Update PowerPoint
Ensure food is ordered if not provided centrally
Ensure room is scheduled and prepped for orientation
Notify students of place
Room set up with computer for presentation
Support faculty getting to know the students & their schedules: Photos:
Prepare the composite of student photos by class at the beginning of the year and send it to all faculty Quarterly Class Schedule:
Post student schedules for all cohorts every quarter (i.e., class name, time, location, instructors). Share with faculty and students SON Website, Resources and Communications: Updates:
Assist with updates to the SON website for AGNP tracks
Create resource pages and links to related documents for students/faculty as needed
Assist with sending items related to faculty or students to SON MarComm Bulletin Board:
Post faculty requested and other items on the bulletin board (articles, photos, announcements)
Post student photos, announcements, awards, articles on board
Assist with congratulations board and posting student DNP final projects on 6th floor Communication:
Student Communication/Coordination:
Introduction email to first-year students
Assist CPC with clinical practicum orientation email in Y2 Fall Preceptor Appreciation & Support:
Research NONPF’s best practice recommendations
Coordinate with SAS for preceptors’ NetID
Follow up with preceptors to make sure they have access to their preceptor privileges
Assist with planning and/or holding preceptor appreciation event (in collaboration with PMHNP)
Identify methods to recognize preceptors Student Support: Student Tracking & Communication: Student Database:
Maintain student data base including photos
Input new cohort data annually
Email survey at the end of each year to collect data about personal emails, jobs, etc.
Ensure non-UW emails are put into database to track graduates
Keep database updated with alumni information; NPI information
Lead tracking of interprofessional education and student iPALS curriculum completion before graduation Job announcements:
Send job announcements out to students or to SAS for posting
Student mentoring and networking support: Contact information:
Provide students with address/contact info list of their class, other FNP cohorts, and faculty Social Gatherings:
Assist students with planning and organizing social events (e.g., track ideas for fun student social events with or without faculty, reserve rooms, etc.) Student-led mentoring:
Support the development of a student-led mentoring program Scholarship and Funding Payback: Funding support/payback planning:
Organize the forum (early winter quarter): location, IT, PP presentations, timing for each organization to present

Bachelor’s degree in business management, education, or health sciences
Two years of work experience using MS Office applications, Canvas, and managing projects Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
