Job Description :
The City of Kalamazoo Parks and Recreation Department is looking for dependable and responsible individuals to work with youth in our Afterschool Programs in community schools.

Examples of Duties
Work directly with youth by providing homework help, reading, instruction in arts, sports, performing arts, and other recreational activities. Hours range between 2:30pm and 6:30pm, Monday through Friday (depending on KPS calendar). Occasional weekend paid trainings are provided, and additional opportunities for extra hours may be available.
Essential Qualifications
Instructors should be understanding, caring individuals with some skills in the above-mentioned recreation areas.
Applicants with background in youth work are highly preferred.
Applicants should be available for the above-mentioned hours, Monday through Friday and should have reliable transportation.
This position provides excellent experience for those going into counseling and teaching or recreation professions.
