Job Description :
The
Sawmill Machine Operator is responsible for the operation of a variety of equipment, general machine maintenance functions related to the sawmill production.
Machine Operator ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Include, but are not limited, to the following:
Identify different species and wood conditions.
Perform a variety of machine operations, cleaning, and assisting with repairs of equipment.
Perform frequent checks to assure the machine is producing material to spec.
Adjust machines operated to maintain spec product.
Identify maintenance-related issues, assist and offer solutions.
Ability to drive and operate a skid steer as needed.
Ability to follow Preventative Maintenance program in place to grease, inspect, and maintain the machinery and building.
Have detail to keep a clean and organized work area.
Ability to use powered hand tools correctly and safely.
