Job Description :
Law&Crime Network, founded by ABC News Chief Legal Correspondent Dan Abrams, has become the must watch television network for the latest big legal stories and live criminal trials of the day. Backed by A+E Networks, the channel can be found on most major cable and OTT providers like Verizon Fios, Sling, Peacock, and more.
Our ideal candidate is a videographer with experience shooting live events. A candidate that is used to setting up the audio and video for a live event. We prefer a candidate with knowledge of working sports or live streaming.
Experience in news, courts or live sports preferred but not required.
Key Responsibilities Will Include, But Are Not Limited To:
Setting up the courtroom for a live feed with audio.
Commitment to the length of the trial which could last several weeks.
Courthouse hours (Monday – Friday) of 8am – 5pm. You are welcome to work on other projects outside of that time.
Uphold and enforce Law & Crime Network’s national standards and practices, editorial and branding guidelines.
Train with us on how to properly shoot and frame a trial. (Virtual)
Requirements For Success
You must have a camera that is 1080i quality. HD video camera with an SDI output that can be plugged into power. No DSLR’s. XLR Audio connection.
A set of 2 wireless mics.
Tripod on a fluid head.
Ability to record and transfer courtroom footage as a back-up.
Can work well with local media and courtroom employees in the field.
A good communicator with our staff via phone.
Knowledge of TVU or Live U streaming devices.
Ability to troubleshoot and act independently and proactively.
Reliable transportation.
This position is a great opportunity for a freelancer. Our daily rate for a trial is approximately $400 for each day. We pay weekly. This trial could last several weeks. You must be able to commit to the length of the trial. You could split this work with another person on your team with advance approval.
This assignment does not require post production.
