Summary

MOD is one of the fastest growing restaurant brands in the US, and also one of America’s most loved brands. Our Director of People Support plays a key role by supporting MOD’s purpose-driven growth aspirations. Reporting to the Chief People Officer, the Director of People Support helps our business by consulting with our field leadership team to influence, co-develop and implement the people strategy across our retail stores.

This is a remote role.

Key Responsibilities

Day to day leadership, coaching and guidance for a team of 6-8 People Business Partners and Generalists.
Acting as an escalation point for employee relations issues for the team, inclusive of liaising with legal as needed.
Ensuring HR compliance inclusive of updates to the Company Guidebook and release of new policies, EEO-1 reporting, Wage and Hour, OSHA, etc.
Influencing, educating, and coaching leaders on related HR practices.
Partnering across the business and with our specialist teams to ensure that people programs and processes are aligned with the organizational goals and culture
Maintain in-depth knowledge of employment, benefits, and compensation regulations and requirements reducing legal risks and ensuring compliance, solving simple to complex problems, identifying trends early, mapping out solutions, and executing against the best solutions for the business

Basic Qualifications

10+ years’ progressively advancing HR experience inclusive of 2+ years people management
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Human Resources or related field / or equivalent experience.
Deep employee relations experience with dispersed populations similar to that of a restaurant/retail type environment.
Ability to recognize patterns and themes, prioritize critical issues, and collaborate to find solutions that scale across the business.
Strong project management and process development skills with proven success leading creation and roll out of policies, procedures, and programs with a focus on cultural alignment.
Exceptional interpersonal, oral and written communication and presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with multiple and diverse constituents.
Excellent consulting, conflict management, interviewing/fact finding, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
Proven ability to coach others development both within the HR function and within the organization at large.
Proven success at developing strong trusting relationships in order to gain support and achieve results

Preferred Qualifications

Experience both as a HR generalist and in a HR Specialty such as employee relations, benefits, compensation, talent management and/or operations.
Capability supporting a geographically dispersed employee population
Experience in a public consumer-focused company, retail or restaurant preferred
Deep analytical skills: ability to analyze large amounts of data and develop sound recommendations
Change Management skills
Working knowledge of California law is a plus

Physical Requirements

Office work involves remaining in a stationary position most of the time in front of a computer, using a keyboard, mouse and telephone. Regularly operate a computer and other office equipment. Occasionally move about the work site to access file cabinets, office equipment, etc. Exert up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or regularly move objects. Communicate and exchange information with co-workers and other individuals in person and electronically.
