Job Description :
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
Primary Responsibilities
Reduce flash and scrap produced by the molding operation
Examine molds for damage
Blocking damaged cavities
Daily verify and optimize shot volume and injection time to reduce both flash and short shots
Recommend permanent changes to curing condition sheets per results of optimizations on both vertical and horizontal presses
Check mold vent and vacuum lines for wear and damage
Verify and recommend vacuum and bumping settings
Drill out rubber venting holes in molds
Remove expired special condition sheets
Replace baskets of rubber as needed throughout the shift (forklift license required)
Support Responsibilities
Mold releasing molds
Perform in press cleaning of molds as needed
Minor mold repairs
Assist PE with mold improvements
Testing mold balance
Mold changes (vertical & horizontal)
Issuing special condition sheets
JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Ability to operate with minimum supervision
Possess an above average mechanical aptitude or technical understanding
Ability to carry out assigned projects and oversee projects to their completion; ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to safety operate a forklift.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School education or equivalent.
Two (2) years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
Previous setup, maintenance or machine shop experience a plus
Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
