DSHS DVR Rehabilitation Technician If you are someone who thrives on building relationships, making connections and is passionate about human services – then we have an excellent opportunity for you. Join us today at and be part of our hard-working team of professionals at the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) Kennewick office and Columbia Basin WorkSource, where DVR customers are referred to conduct their job search activities. We need your motivation and engagement to provide support to Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) Counselors and other professional VR staff by directly assisting customers with job search and placement, including identification of job leads and assisting customers with making successful employer contacts. Some of what you will do
Carry a small caseload of DVR customers who are in an active job search status and assist each individual in developing and carrying out a successful search plan.
Evaluate each customer’s work history, skills, education, and barriers to employment to successfully match an individual with available job openings.
Assist each customer in effectively using the services and resources available at WorkSource to conduct a successful job search.
Conduct job search workshops for groups of DVR customers.
Maintains close contact with each customer’s VR Counselor to update progress and obtain intervention in the event an individual is not making progress in his/her job search.
Who should apply?
A Bachelor’s degree in rehabilitation counseling, psychology, counseling or a field related to vocational rehabilitation (such as one that promotes the physical, psychosocial, or vocational well-being of individuals with disabilities).
OR
A Bachelor’s degree with at least 18-quarter or 12-semester credit hours from the following courses (direct customer services experience in a vocational rehabilitation program will substitute year-for-year for the Bachelor’s degree, but not for the 18-quarter or 12 semester credit hours):

What we are looking for
Knowledge of state-of-the-art job search methods, including resume development and job interviewing skills.
Knowledge of the medical aspects of disability and the impact that various functional limitations may have on an Individual’s job performance.
Understanding of general employer perspectives towards hiring decisions and the final selection of successful job candidates
Ability to provide honest, supportive and constructive feedback on a customer’s job search efforts, including feedback on their interviewing skills and overall personal presentation to prospective employers.
